Sikhir, Bahrain- In a thrilling start to the 2023 Formula 1 season, Red Bull Racing emerged victorious at the Bahrain Grand Prix held in Melbourne. The team, led by Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, put up a dominant performance over the course of the weekend, securing pole position in qualifying and leading the race from start to finish.
Verstappen, who started from the front row, took the lead at the first corner and never looked back, pulling away from his rivals with every passing lap. Despite a strong challenge from Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes and Charles Leclerc of Ferrari, Verstappen maintained his lead throughout the race, crossing the finish line with a comfortable margin of victory.
His teammate Perez, who started from fourth on the grid, also put up an impressive performance, overtaking Leclerc early in the race and holding off the Ferrari driver to secure a podium finish. The result marks a strong start to the season for Perez, who joined Red Bull Racing last year.
Speaking after the race, Verstappen expressed his delight at the team’s performance, saying, “It was a great weekend for us. The car felt really good from the first practice session, and we were able to carry that momentum through to the race. The team did an amazing job, and I’m really happy to get the win.”
Red Bull Racing Team Principal Christian Horner praised his drivers for their flawless performance, saying, “Max and Sergio were exceptional today. They drove with maturity and composure, and they never put a foot wrong. It’s a fantastic start to the season, and we’re really excited about what we can achieve this year.”
The result marks Red Bull Racing’s first win at the Australian Grand Prix since 2018 and sets the team up for a strong start to the season. With Verstappen and Perez in top form, the team will be looking to build on this success as the season progresses.
The next race on the Formula 1 calendar is the Bahrain Grand Prix, which will take place on March 26-28. Red Bull Racing will be hoping to carry their momentum into the race and continue their winning streak.
